Living in NW Crossing: Community Events, Real Sales & Video Tours

NW Crossing · NW Bend · Summit West District

Living in NW Crossing: the community events, the real sales, and what walkable actually means here.

NW Crossing is the neighborhood I host in as much as sell in. Here’s what the sidewalks, the farmers market, and the two events I throw here every year actually look like, plus real video tours and a real closed sale on Drouillard Avenue.

By Tiffany Vasquez · Life in Bend · Updated August 2026

NW Crossing is the neighborhood most people picture when they think of Bend’s westside: craftsman-style homes, real sidewalks, the Saturday farmers market, and dinner within walking distance. It sits in the Summit West Neighborhood District in NW Bend, and it’s also where I’ve hosted two of my own community events for the last several years, so I know these streets past the listing photos.

Sold by Tiffany in NW Crossing

I’m ranked Top 5 in NW Crossing by 2025 closed sales, and these are real, closed NW Crossing transactions, not staged examples. The Drouillard Avenue home above is one of them. Fields Street and Hartford Avenue are two more, right in the neighborhood.

“We needed to sell before we were ready to move. Tiffany got us to pending in 15 days and negotiated a free rent-back so we could stay through our transition. We never felt rushed, and we never had to figure out where to go.”— Drouillard Avenue sellers, NW Crossing

Community events I host right here in NW Crossing

Real estate aside, NW Crossing is where I put on two Life in Bend community events every year. Neither is a marketing gimmick dressed up as a party. Both are free, family events I’ve run for multiple years running, hosted right in the neighborhood.

Every Spring
The Life in Bend Easter Egg Hunt

Held at Compass Park in the heart of NW Crossing, this is the 3rd Annual Life in Bend Easter Egg Hunt, with a Lil’ Chicks mini hunt for ages 4 and under and a main hunt for ages 5 and up, running simultaneously so every age gets their own moment. The event benefits KIDS Center, which provides no-cost services to children and families impacted by abuse right here in Central Oregon.

Every June
The Life in Bend School’s Out for Summer Party

On the last day of school each year, I throw the Life in Bend School’s Out for Summer Party for local families kicking off their break. It’s become an annual tradition alongside the Easter Egg Hunt. Photos and details go up on Instagram and YouTube each spring as the date is set, so that’s the best place to see it and RSVP.

Shops and restaurants, right in the neighborhood

Part of what makes NW Crossing walkable is that the shops and restaurants are the neighborhood center, not a drive away. These are real, current NW Crossing businesses, not a generic Bend list.

What’s actually nearby

What to know before you buy here

  • NW Crossing is one of Bend’s most established walkable neighborhoods, so homes here carry a premium over newer, less walkable pockets of NW Bend.
  • Craftsman-style homes dominate, with real sidewalks and alley-loaded garages on most streets, which keeps the front of each home pedestrian-focused.
  • The Saturday farmers market and neighborhood shops mean more foot traffic and street parking demand on weekends than in quieter NW Bend pockets.
  • Lot sizes are generally smaller in the core, which is part of what makes the neighborhood walkable, but it means less private outdoor space than newer developments.
  • Both community events I host here (the Easter Egg Hunt and the School’s Out for Summer Party) draw families from across Bend, not just the neighborhood, so parking and turnout can be heavier on those days.
  • School assignments are set by home address and can change with boundary updates; confirm the current assignment before relying on it.
